The problem of human adaptation,
suddenly disabled
"Confession" a wheelchair user and unfulfilled
poet and photographer, or the frankness of a cheerful "loser"
Adaptation problems (psychological, physical, social) a disabled person with a spinal cord in the first person
A literary and philosophical essay by the poet and photographer Misha (Mikhail) Mazel, who, by chance, at the age of twenty-six (26), lost the ability to walk and was forced to use a wheelchair and for this reason moved from Moscow to New York at the age of 30.
Misha shares his experience, telling how he was looking for himself in this difficult situation against the background of a problem with the spine and moving to a new country, as well as how this was combined with the incessant search for himself in creativity and in everyday life.
Why is Misha planning to share this? Probably in the hope that his life experience will be useful both to people who find themselves in a similar situation and to their loved ones (especially their loved ones).
Perhaps Misha's experience will also help those who, thank Gd, are all right with their health, but who are lost or are simply looking for themselves.
Misha is the author of two dozen books of poetry, prose, fairy tales; participant of many (including personal) photo exhibitions; author of more than 50 literary and artistic websites; book designer; vice-president of the oldest Russian-speaking New York literary association, and, most importantly in the aspect of this essay: an open and positive person.
Probably, it should be mentioned that Misha is a graduate of a mathematical school and a technical university. Before he "turned" into a complete humanities student, Misha worked as a programmer at a research institute and later in companies that were somehow connected with electronics and computers.
Misha will be grateful to everyone who responds to his story about his experience ... especially those who will help in spreading this essay on the Internet. It is very important for Misha to convey all of the above to people.
