Всходила полная луна
пятнадцатого дня Нисана,
и Патриаршие пруды
глядели в небо без обмана.
Зелёный отражая глаз
не то звезды, не то Мессира,
вода, уже в который раз,
ночные шорохи гасила.
Над нами прошмыгнула тень
иль на метле нагая дева...
Незримо зарождался день,
вновь делал мастер своё дело.
И ветер шелестел листвой,
а время - строчками романа.
Навстречу к нам по мостовой
шла неизвестность из тумана.
Борьба велась добра и зла -
извечная ночная тема.
И с моря туча вновь ползла
сокрыть врата Ершалаема.
