Когда твой друг становится отцом,
Не спрашивай его: “А что с лицом?”
Когда-нибудь, быть может, станешь сам.
Тогда поймешь всю цену словесам.
Когда твой друг становится отцом,
ты можешь стать последним подлецом
в том случае, коль спросишь даже раз:
“Ну что? Распишем пульку? В преферанс...”
Когда твой друг становится отцом,
забудешь ты про музыку с винцом.
Узнаешь ты, где в кухне свет и газ,
и за куренье там получишь в глаз.
Когда твой друг становится отцом,
ты поддержи его заботливым словцом
и не мечтай увидеть сытый стол,
а то опять поможешь вымыть пол.
Когда твой друг становится отцом,
учти, имеешь дело ты с птенцом.
Порхает он везде без задних ног
и заплетается его невнятный слог.
Когда твой друг становится отцом,
не спрашивай его: “А что с лицом?”
Учти: уже легли пеленки в таз,
а могут полететь в твой хитрый глаз.
